Sunday Club Races Cancelled - August 16th (Flooding Emergency)
Published 6:18pm on 15 Aug 2026
With the flooding emergency still affecting communities across the state and our local area, we're calling off Sunday Club Racing for August 16th.
Here's where things stand: the recent storms have left debris scattered throughout the water, so conditions out there simply aren't safe for racing right now. We're also not sure the mark boats will even be available — the water is high enough that we may not be able to get them off the lifts. And because water rose over the seawall, we shut off power to the hoists as a safety precaution; we don't plan to turn it back on until we're confident it's safe to do so.
On top of all that, emergency services across the state are stretched thin helping people deal with much bigger problems than a Sunday race. As much as we'd love to be out there, the last thing we want to do is give them one more call to answer — so we're sitting this one out.
We'll keep you posted as conditions improve and let you know as soon as racing is back on. Thanks for your patience and for putting safety first.
