Saturday, August 17th - Session #8 - Instructional Racing Program

Published 7:25am on 19 Jun 2024

If you are a graduate of the ISCA Adult Training program or a club member who wants to brush on their rusty sailing skills or learn how to race, then sign up for the next session of the Instructional Racing Program that will be held this upcoming Saturday morning on August 17th.  Sign up by going to ISC website Calendar and selecting the appropriate option (you will need to login to your ISC member online account to sign up).

The Instructional Racing Program (IRP) is a brand new offering available to all ISC members that provides two levels of training:

"Level 1" training provides structured on-the-water practice and coaching for sailors and crew who want to improve their sailing skills and gain more confidence and proficiency sailing on the water.

"Level 2" training provides on-shore education and on-the-water practice for sailors and crew interested in learning about and practicing sailboat racing to prepare them to join in on the fun of ISC club racing,  This training level will teach you about race courses, signal flags/horns, starting sequence and the rules of racing and offer on-the-water opportunities each day to practice these on a race course.

The IRP is sponsored by the ISC, is offered at no cost and is available to both graduates of the ISCA Adult Training and to veteran sailors and crew.  All fleets are welcome to participate and a limited number of club-owned Interlake sailboats will be available to sailors who do not own a sailboat.
