Racing Clinic

***** THIS IS A FREE EVENT FOR ISC MEMBERS *****  It is a 2-Day event starting Saturday May 18 8:00AM and concluding Sunday May 19th about 1:00PM - Sign up on the Saturday Date Only.

Get a head start on your summer racing program!  Are you a day-sailor looking to do more racing, a cruiser looking to sail your boat more efficiently?  Or a racer looking to improve?  This clinic will be for you!  This will be a mostly on the water program and is open to all members of ISC.  Don't have a boat?  We will have a limited number of boats that will be available.  Please contact Chris Palabrica, 708-476-2566 or via email to arrange for a boat if you do not have one.

We will be video taping boats during the sailing activity and debriefing the activity on Sunday morning.  This is a 2-day program.

Day 1 - 8:00 - 10:00 registration and check-in with light breakfast Morning - Discussion sail trim, boat handling, boat preparation, 10:00 - Preparation of boats for on the water a series of short "races" will be conducted (Harbor Start 1100) until about 4:30 with hamburgers and refreshments afterwards.

Day 2 - 8:00 Video debrief, discussion of on the water safety, MOB procedures, emergency procedures, flares, etc. 11:00 we will demonstrate deployment of a typical offshore liferaft and let you climb in it to experience what it might be like.  We will conclude with lunch and refreshments.
