Introduction to Instructional Racing Program

11th June, 7:00pm - 8:00pm

The Instructional Racing Program (IRP) is available to ISC members who have completed the ISCA Adult Training course or are experienced sailors/crew who want to hone their sailing skills and/or learn how to race.  The IRP will be held on Saturday mornings beginning in the middle of June and will run through the summer months.

At this session you will learn about the purpose, structure, format, and staff of the IRP as well as how to sign up for this new program.

The IRP offers two levels of training:

  • "Level 1" is structured on-the-water practice and coaching for sailors and crew who want to improve their sailing skills and gain more confidence and proficiency sailing on the water.
  • "Level 2" has both on-shore education and on-the-water practice for sailors and crew interested in learning about sailboat racing to prepare them to join in on the fun of ISC club racing.  This training level will teach you about race courses, signal flags/horns, the starting sequence, the rules of racing and offers on-the-water opportunities to practice these on a race course.

The IRP is sponsored by the ISC, is free, is open to all fleets and has a limited number of club-owned Interlake sailboats available to sailors who do not own a sailboat.
